Luke Stewart, MS
I am a third year PhD student in Biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania and a member of the Mitra Lab. Prior to that I was a research assistant at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston working with Chris Foote.
I am attending JSM 2026 and presenting a poster that evaluates methods for causal inference in panel data settings with small samples and short panels, focusing on health policy evaluation. Check out the accompanying paper, now on arXiv!
Research
My interests are constantly evolving, but these days I'm focusing on:
- Causal inference in complex, longitudinal settings (primarily using EHR and claims data)
- Health policy evaluation
- Simulation frameworks to validate causal inference methods
